Soft pillow may be used to support your head and a towel to dull cube (recommended for first time use).
Start seated on the floor recline gently onto The Acupressure Pillow. Do not flop back on to the device. Align the ‘cube’ with tender points adjacent to the spine. This may take a little time to identify the exact points along the spine which are tight, locked or painful.
Once you have found the painful (inflamed) area with EASE try and add greater weight to the area. This may seem painful at first, however the more you can relax onto it, the faster the RELEASE may come.
IMPORTANT: Ensure you breathe slowly and deeply into your diaphragm while using your Acupressure pillow. Be patient with yourself and the process and know that within a few seconds there will likely be a SHIFT. The pain and discomfort will either disperse and become more ‘dull’ or it may intensify; this depends on how chronic your condition is. If you don't feel a release know that its still working.
If the pain is becoming to intense stop and hold the position of your pain threshold. You may have to do a backwards motion and wait for the pain to dissipate then try again but push yourself that little bit further each time for an outcome of full limb movement with minimal pain. If the pain becomes to intense roll off lay there give it time and let the pain dissipate. The more pain you have the slower the movement on the device.
When working the upper back only use 1-2 cubes. Gently and slowly move one arm at a time. Roll your head around to activate the inflamed area while applying weight through the cube onto ‘the sore spot’. Try to stretch out your legs and move your arms in different directions. Less chance of it getting worse before get better.
When working the lower back only use 1-2 cubes gently and slowly move one leg at a time. Try to stretch out your leg and move it in different positions to activate the inflamed area while applying weight through the cube onto the inflamed area. Try to also slowly move your feet around to get full effect of the device. If the pain intensifies when doing these movements hold the position of your pain threshold. It may feel worse before it gets better.
When working the neck only use 1-3 cubes. Gently and slowly move your head around in a 360 degrees motion. Try different facial features like smiling, chewing also stretch legs and feet out.
When working to release hip, leg or foot pain use 2-3 cubes. You will need to work the original source of sensations e.g. hip, leg or foot as well as the sciatic nerve that travels behind your upper outer gluteus maximus as seen in the example image. For maximum effect place yourself over or beside the device and line up the cube with the sciatic nerve, place knee bent upwards towards chest. With your knee bent up make an outwards motion to the side while supporting yourself with your other leg. Make sure you move and hold that position. Most effective by referring to the guide and doing this exercise consecutively over 3 weeks.
Instruction video pending.
During the course of your day be aware of which ‘positions and postures’ cause you pain. When using The Acupressure Pillow, replicate this position or posture. This is a really effective way to impact the inflamed area. Maintain the position / posture as you gently and slowly apply your weight through the cube. It may initially be painful until the tension is released.
Experiment with subtle movement while applying weight to ‘the sore spot’ to see if you can further stimulate ‘this sore spot’. Repeat all upper, lower back and neck movements as many times over 1-3 days. Have a 1-3 days off to assess how your condition has changed.
You may feel different sensations in and around the area during and after you have used the device for example stinging, pulsing sensations, itchiness, hot needles, shooting electrical sensations and it may cause bruising. This means that you are re-awakens the functionality in that area. Don’t be alarmed - that means it’s working! Remember: The more you can relax through it and surrender to the pain, the more effective The Acupressure Pillow is.
CAUTION
Before using consult a health professional if unsure if this is the right product for you. Read these instructions thoroughly. Do not flop on to The Acupressure Pillow.
